India's Competitiveness: Sliding?

The World Economic Forum's GCR (global competitiveness report) for the last three years paints a worrying trend on innovation. India's Innovation rank has slipped from 32nd to 39th position in the world while China's has improved from 28 to 26.

In a relatively good run for India in the GFC, trailing metrics on Innovation is a set back.

  1. skills and interest for innovations need to be trained or developed from childhood. In our country children are forced to study and just by heart the books and concentrate on marks more than the concept. It will take years to achive.
